# Google Docs

Frase’s Google Docs integration is built for teams that already live in Google Docs.

Instead of starting from scratch or manually copying content between tools, this integration lets you import, refine, and export content seamlessly — while also teaching Frase’s AI how your brand writes, sounds, and communicates.

### Why Connect Frase to Google Docs

The Google Docs integration helps you:

* Import **existing content** to optimize and improve in Frase
* Bring in brand voice guidelines, reference docs, and term glossaries through [Brand DNA](https://docs.frase.io/advanced/brand-dna)
* Export briefs and content back to Google Docs for collaboration
* Keep content workflows aligned with how your team already works

{% hint style="success" %}
**Think of it as a two-way bridge:** Google Docs informs Frase → Frase improves content → results go back to Google Docs
{% endhint %}

### What You Can Do with the Integration

Once connected, you can use Google Docs across Frase in three main ways:

#### 1. Content Governance & Brand Voice

Import [Brand DNA](https://docs.frase.io/advanced/brand-dna) documents like:

* Brand voice and tone guidelines
* Terminology libraries or glossaries
* Product, service, or offer documentation
* Internal reference materials

These documents are used to guide Frase’s AI, so content stays consistent, on-brand, and accurate.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Google Docs can also be added as "Smart Sources" when you [create content](https://docs.frase.io/using-frase/content-creation) in Frase.
{% endhint %}

#### 2. Optimize Existing Content

Bring existing drafts or published copy from Google Docs into Frase to:

* Improve structure and clarity
* Optimize for search and AI visibility
* Expand, refine, or rewrite sections using AI
* Align content with current SERP insights

#### 3. Export Briefs Back to Google Docs

Send content briefs back to new or existing Google Docs for:

* Stakeholder reviews
* Editorial collaboration
* Final approvals
* Documentation and sharing
