Legacy Migration Guide

Tutorial: Migration to New Frase
Overview
This guide walks you through seamlessly migrating your account from Legacy Frase to the new Frase application.
Only certain plan types are eligible for migration - and only organization admins can complete the migration process.
Important: If at any point you need help with your migration, contact us at [email protected].
Step 1: Prepare for Migration
Before migrating, we recommend:
Reviewing active projects and documents
Reactivate any needed archived documents (only live docs will be migrated)
Noting any critical deadlines
Informing your team about the upcoming change
Export important documents as a backup
What to expect
Once the admin authorizes the migration, it should complete within minutes.
All active documents will be migrated and available under “Content” in new Frase.
Once the migration is initiated, all non-admins will be unable to access Legacy Frase.
When the migration is complete, these users will receive an email notification to set up their account and join their admin’s organization.
Any Content Governance, Folders, and Integrations will need to be set back up.
Step 2: Access the Migration Tool
Log in to your new Frase application account here.
Navigate to Settings → Account
Click Start Migration
Step 3: Send & enter authorization code
To kickoff the migration, you’ll have a verification code emailed to you. Copy this code and paste it into the new Frase application.
Confirm to proceed
Step 4: Run the Migration
Click Confirm Migration
Migration begins automatically
You’ll see a progress indicator
Important for Teams: At this point, your Legacy Frase account will only be accessible to Admins.
Step 5: Access the new Frase application
Once migration is complete:
Log in to the new Frase application using your new credentials
Review migrated projects and documents
Verify team access and permissions
Step 6: Validate Your Data
After migration, we recommend:
Opening several key documents
Checking project organization
Confirming collaboration features work as expected
If anything looks off, contact [email protected] before making major changes.
Step 7: Transition Your Team
Important: Your teammates will automatically receive an email to create an account in the new Frase application, twhich will be added to your organization. Make sure they complete this within 7 days for a smooth transition.
Check and update any teammate permissions as needed
Point them to updated docs or onboarding materials
Set up any needed Content Governance, Integrations, and Projects/Folders
Encourage new work to start in the new Frase application
