# Product Overview

A quick crash course on how Frase is organized and how to see value fast.

{% embed url="<https://youtu.be/2cUCKcSwOhM>" %}

### The Big Picture

Frase is organized around a loop. Instead of a pile of separate tools, Frase runs a single, repeatable cycle — **Set Up → Listen → Create → Publish → Monitor → Fix** — and every feature in the product lives in that flow.

You give Frase your brand, your site, and your data. Frase listens for what your audience is asking, creates the content, publishes it, watches how it performs on Google and in AI answers, and fixes it when it slips.

Each page you publish sharpens the next one — so the loop compounds instead of resetting.

There's an order to your first run through it. Set up your inputs, then execute on what Frase builds from them, then publish and watch what happens. After that first pass the stages overlap: you'll be creating new content while working audit fixes while Content Guard watches what's already live. That's normal, and it's the point.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Frase is a system, not a menu.** Each stage feeds the next one. Without your brand and site inputs, recommendations are guesses. Without Google Search Console connected, Frase can't see how your content actually performs. You'll get partial results from partial use.
{% endhint %}

### The Loop, Stage by Stage

<details>

<summary><strong>Set Up — Your site, brand, and data inputs</strong></summary>

This is the stage that genuinely comes first, and it's the one people skip. Everything Frase recommends downstream is built from what you put in here: your domain and its crawl, your [Brand Hub](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/brand-hub) profile, your competitors, your topic clusters, the terms you never want written about, and your [Google Search Console](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/connectors/google-search-console) and [Google Analytics](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/connectors/google-analytics-4) connections.

Those inputs live in different places in the app, which makes them easy to treat as unrelated chores. They aren't. They're one job, and [Connect Your Site & Brand](https://docs.frase.io/get-started/connect-your-site-and-brand) walks you through it.

If a recommendation ever looks wrong, this is where you go to find out why. Most of it traces back to your Brand Hub profile.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Listen — Frase Answers</strong></summary>

[Frase Answers](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/frase-answers) captures the real questions your visitors ask on your own site, so your roadmap starts from first-party demand instead of guesswork. These questions tell Frase what's worth creating next and feed straight into the Create stage.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Create — Research, Content, Opportunities</strong></summary>

Found in the *Create* section of the sidebar. [Research](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/deep-research) analyzes the SERP and your competitors, [Opportunities](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/content-opportunities) surfaces what to work on, and the editor takes you to a publish-ready draft — text and images — with real-time SEO and GEO scoring to optimize new and existing content.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Publish — Your CMS or Frase CMS</strong></summary>

One click sends the finished article live to [WordPress](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/wordpress), [Webflow](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/webflow), [Sanity](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/sanity), [Wix](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/wix), or [Frase CMS](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/frase-cms) — no copy-pasting, no reformatting.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Monitor — SEO Analytics &#x26; AI Visibility</strong></summary>

Found in the *Monitor* section. [SEO Analytics](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/seo-analytics) tracks your Google rankings, and [AI Visibility](https://docs.frase.io/core-workflows/ai-visibility-and-geo#ai-visibility-tracking) tracks where you get cited across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI — with an alert the day your share of voice moves.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Fix — Content Guard</strong></summary>

Found in the *Optimize* section. [Content Guard](https://docs.frase.io/core-workflows/publish-and-protect-with-content-guard) watches your live pages, catches a drop in rank or traffic, drafts the revision, and waits for your approval before republishing. And the loop continues.

</details>

### Your Workspace at a Glance

{% hint style="success" %}
**The site selector** in the top left lets you switch between connected domains. If you manage multiple sites, this is how you context-switch between them.
{% endhint %}

Frase's navigation is one sidebar, organized around the content loop. **Home** and **Projects** stay pinned at the top; everything else is grouped by what you're doing:<br>

* **Create** — Research, Content, and your Content Projects. Where you spend most of your time making and improving content.
* **Optimize** — Audit (with its Pages and Issues views) and Content Guard. Your site health and monitoring hub.
* **Monitor** — SEO Analytics and AI Visibility. Where you track Google rankings and where you get cited across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI.
* **Publish** — Frase CMS and your Frase-hosted pages, including theming, style, and layout.
* **Answers** — Everything for the Frase Answers agent widget: playground, knowledge, setup, chat style, embedding, and activity.
* **Automate** — Agent and MCP-driven workflows that run on your behalf.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Looking for **Clusters**? It's now a lens inside **Opportunities** instead of its own menu item.
{% endhint %}

### Your First Run Through the Loop

Phase 1 is genuinely sequential — do it in order. After that, the stages overlap.

#### Phase 1 — Feed Frase your inputs

Do all of this before you judge a single recommendation. Frase can't tell you what to write until it knows who you are, who you're up against, and what your site already does. [Connect Your Site & Brand](https://docs.frase.io/get-started/connect-your-site-and-brand) walks through adding your site and connecting Search Console; the site and crawl step takes about five minutes.

1. [**Connect your site and brand**](https://docs.frase.io/get-started/connect-your-site-and-brand) — Add your domain from the site selector in the top left and let Frase crawl it. The crawl populates your [Brand Hub](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/brand-hub) profile, competitors, and assets.
2. **Review what the crawl found** — Frase drafts your profile and competitor list from your site content. Correct anything that's off. The *Profile* and *Competitors* sections shape how Frase writes for you, so they're worth getting right before anything else.
3. [**Connect Google Search Console**](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/connectors/google-search-console) **and** [**Google Analytics**](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/connectors/google-analytics-4) — Connect both from **Settings → Integrations**. GSC powers [Content Opportunities](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/content-opportunities), [SEO Analytics](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/seo-analytics), and [Content Guard](https://docs.frase.io/core-workflows/publish-and-protect-with-content-guard). GA4 lets [AI Visibility](https://docs.frase.io/core-workflows/ai-visibility-and-geo) show you referral traffic from AI answers.
4. [**Run your first audit**](https://docs.frase.io/core-workflows/audit-my-site) — Go to **Optimize → Audit** and start a crawl from the **New Audit** button. This is your baseline. Don't fix anything yet, just get the picture.
5. [**Set up Frase Answers**](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/frase-answers) — The sooner it's live, the sooner your content plan is driven by questions your actual visitors are asking.

{% hint style="info" %}
Your [**Brand Hub**](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/brand-hub) profile is the input everything else is built from. If a recommendation looks off later, start there before you change anything else.
{% endhint %}

#### Phase 2 — Execute, and fix in parallel

These two run at the same time. Doing only one of them is the most common reason people stall out.

1. [**Work your Opportunities**](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/content-opportunities) — Frase ranks what to create and what to optimize, based on everything you set up in Phase 1. Start at the top.
2. **Create and optimize** — Use [Research](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/deep-research) or the editor to take briefs to publish-ready drafts. Pick the writing mode that fits: let Frase draft, or use "Write Yourself" and keep Frase on research and scoring.
3. **Work your audit issues alongside it** — Your Phase 1 audit sorts findings by severity — critical issues, warnings, and opportunities — so you know what to fix first. You don't need to clear the list before creating content. Technical fixes and new content compound, and doing one without the other leaves results on the table.

#### Phase 3 — Publish, then watch

1. **Publish** — Send finished articles to [WordPress](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/wordpress), [Webflow](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/webflow), [Sanity](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/sanity), [Wix](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/wix), or [Frase CMS](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/frase-cms). You choose whether each piece goes live or lands as a draft, unless a content rule blocks it: an error-severity violation refuses the publish and names what it hit.
2. **Monitor** — Watch [SEO Analytics](https://docs.frase.io/feature-reference/seo-analytics) for rankings and [AI Visibility](https://docs.frase.io/core-workflows/ai-visibility-and-geo#ai-visibility-tracking) for citations in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI.
3. [**Enable Content Guard**](https://docs.frase.io/core-workflows/publish-and-protect-with-content-guard) — Content Guard is turned on per article, not per site. Open a published article, switch to the **Guard** tab, and choose **Guard this article**. Start with your highest-traffic and most important commercial pages.

Then you're back at the top of the loop, except now Frase has your performance data too, and the next round of recommendations is sharper than the first.

### The Three Ways People Use Frase

Most users fall into one of three modes — and you'll probably use all three at different times.

**"I want to create something new."** Start with **Create** > *Research* or *Content*. Frase analyzes the SERP competition, builds a brief, and gets you to a publish-ready draft faster than doing it manually. If you prefer Frase to only handle the research and brief, choose our "Write Yourself" writing mode.

**"I want to fix what I already have."** Start with **Create** > *Opportunities*, **Optimize** > *Audit*, or **Monitor** > *SEO Analytics*. These tell you what's underperforming and why — and feed directly into the optimization workflow.

**"I want to know where I stand."** Start with **Monitor** > *AI Visibility* or *SEO Analytics*, or your Dashboard. These give you the signal layer: where your brand shows up, what's working, and what's at risk.

### The Frase Agent

The Agent is available throughout the product via the chat interface. It's not a help bot — it's an operational assistant that can run workflows on your behalf to scale fast without the learning curve of using a new software.

You can ask it things like:

* *"What should I create next?"*
* *"Run an audit and tell me what to fix first."*
* *"Write an article optimized for AI visibility on this topic."*
* *"What's my brand's AI visibility score and how do I improve it?"*

{% hint style="success" %}
The Agent knows your site, your content, and how the product works. When you're not sure what to do next, start there. If you're not sure where you are in the loop, ask it that too.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.frase.io/get-started/fasttrack.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
